Labtaps, accurately measured water for your experiment

Postby Chris » Mon May 12, 2014 1:17 pm

Labtap: Handsfree, controlled water. Pedal control of a water tap, retrofittable into the supply plumbing in an existing lab.

Possible versions:
single tap, on/off only
single tap, with volume contol
dual tap (possibly with single mixer spout),
with volume and temperature controlled by pedal

Now these do seem to be available, but they are not apparently common, even in labs which absolutely need contamination-free work to succeed.

This is a proposed product and not *yet* available. If you need them in volume, please send me a pm. Regards,

Hi "Bonas"
The whole idea is that we design it *if* enough people express interest. It's a bit like a crowd-funding site. If you wish to pre-order directly, we could think about that too. Feel free to message me privately.

Hi Jennifer,
No, we have not gone further with this. Nobody has expressed further interest. This is a crowd driven site. We do not insist on funding, but we do want to see that an item has popularity. Would you be interested in reselling a labtap or did you just post to get the web link? We have a wide range of items here and cannot develop all of them. We are willing to design those which get the most interest and seem the most useful.
If you go to the "Details" link near the top of the forum home page, there is a full explanation. If you have any questions, please get back to me.

That stance is certainly understandable, Chris. Have you considered going to the actual crowdfunding platforms with some of your ideas?

We have considered that. At the moment, we are finding enough useful things to do without that. There is actually a lot of work in doing that - in terms of activity on other social media and getting rewards in place.
This idea is quite a good one I think.
